So you're saying that this poster who, unlike you, is not anonymous on here, is a liar; or his sons, both of whom are police officers, are liars? Who would have believed it, eh? Police officers lying!

J
Jith I am disappointed with you, it is plain to anyone with basic comprehension skills that at no point have I suggested that imagineifyeswill, or his son, is lying. I simply stated that the claim each road policing car is expected to hand out £600 in fines every shift is incorrect (there are no such targets).

I am sure you are not so unintelligent that you actually misunderstood what I wrote so I have to conclude you have deliberately chosen to misinterpret it to try and score a cheap point.

This is both disappointing but also surprising given you have previously posted this in reply to me

I said it before but as of now, you don't exist as far as I'm concerned. If you respond to any of my posts from now on I'll report it to the mods.
On a positive note I am glad you once more accept I exist. I will sleep more soundly as a result. smile

Cat
So what conclusion do you draw from all your bloody silly nonsense? If you imply that what he states is not true, either he or his sons are lying, or all three of them are so mistaken as to be beyond belief.

So which is it?

I know damn fine what is happening in the Roads Policing units in Scotland which is why I responded to your post, but you seem to be in denial or simply don't want to face up to the fact that the current policies are quite frankly disgraceful and stem from the past operations of that sad individual Stephen House.

Jith, you say if Cat responds to your posts you will report Cat to the moderators. Yet you replied to Cat's last post. I would also like to know what you will report Cat for? This is a public forum where people can post their own opinions, nothing that Cat has posted on this thread can be viewed as something that needs reporting.

I am implying nothing, I am quite explicit - the claim that traffic cars have to give out £600 of ticket each shift is incorrect.

Your comprehension skills have failed you. imagineifyeswill stated he has 2 sons in the police. Only one of them (the one based in Inverness) has told him that road policing cars have a target. If this one son is mistaken and imagineifyeswill has repeated this mistaken claim then it is hardly beyond belief.

I am not suggesting that imagineifyeswill or his son are lying but they are incorrect. I see little benefit in speculating as to why they are incorrect.

Every traffic officer I have ever worked with and met would be, in my opinion, surprised, dumbfounded and perhaps offended by such a target and I have certainly not met one who would deliver on it if it was set. The reach does extend to Inverness on occasion too.

So I second Cat's assertion that the repeated claim of such a target is incorrect.

Just to put this to bed!!! I was told by a serving police officer, and there were witnesses, that all the police are interested in these days is catching motorists! as it's easy money!! So to all the smart Alec's that surface on this site, no one is talking about doing 100mph here, these cameras 'fleece' you when only a few miles over the apparent limit!! are you telling me no one here is ever guilty of that?? So before you sit and write your self righteous drivel, think before you speak! This town is full of crime, police do nothing! however are happy to catch motorists doing a few miles over the limit, not really harming anyone!! So that is why I'm grieved.

Oh how wrong you are. Do you even have any idea how the police work?

You typically have:

Response - Dealing with 999 calls
Neighborhoods - Dealing with slow time community jobs
Roads Policing - Dealing with motoring offences
Safer Roads Partnership - Civilians dealing with speed complain sites

So yes you are right in that Roads Policing and Safer roads focus on the motorist.... As it's their role and what they are employed to do. 90% of camera van operators are police staff and are not officers. Response officers will not be sat out there with a speed gun. They don't have the time!

Yes everyone speeds, even myself at times. However If I got caught at 36mph in a 30. I wouldn't kick up a fuss and throw my toys out the pram as I know 36mph in breaking the speed limit. I am in control of my own right foot.

Just to put this to bed once and for all - I have three friends who are serving police offers. All have told me that their force are not remotely interested at all in catching motorists who are slightly exceeding the speed limit. One has been both traffic and firearms, so is in the right department to comment on such a thing.

Am I doing this right? Three is more than one, do I win a prize?

Just take a breath, read that back to yourself and then hopefully you can realise how stupid you look.

What on earth is an "apparent limit"?

There's no point putting camera vans in Kirkintilloch, if you go over 15mph the potholes will tear your suspension out.

Also, to be fair, people do drive too fast on Waterside Road. Not uncommon to see 50mph+ past the schools.

You really don't see the obvious. You can look up exactly how many people are detained, charged and how many crimes are reported and how they are disposed of.

All public. Have a look, and decide.

always smart A's on this site!! No I'm not concerned I got caught!! what I'm trying to say is, living in this town there are far more serious problems the police could be dealing with other than fleecing motorists!!!!!!!!!
So you think its OK for me to drive at 100mph, crash into someone and kill them. However, if I was to stab someone and kill them, that wouldn't be OK?

Simple answer is, don't speed and you don't have to worry about getting caught. Just think, if no one sped, there wouldn't be any need for them would there?
Perhaps if the limits weren't silly smokin

You're quite right there...... I'm sat on my bed currently...... I paid £600 for this mattress, so I'm getting my monies worth!

I'm a traffic officer and you have to be really unlucky, or just plain stupid to get a fine from me (someone almost talked themselves into one the other day, as he couldn't see the issue with entering a roundabout way to quick and cutting up a lorry)

The reason I don't issue tickets? Court dates, cancelled days off and extra cost in childcare, as the job didn't reimburse me. I'm not in a minority either, there are a couple of guys on my shift that post on here, they'll confirm it

Perhaps they use the money they make from catching someone doing 36mph in a 30 for fixing the potholes and not the lovely pensions they get.

Yes

No - you fail to realise the two aren't linked !

There is no need for them now - speeding is one of the least likely causes of accidents.

Oh bless, quite the internet hard man you are biggrin

With regard to knowing everything, I dont think any posters here are claiming that but what is apparant is that most people replying to your childish rants know more about the subject than you do.

Oh and I'm in my living room, reading your drivel.
