The best speed camera detector

Imo detectors are worthless because they'll effectively be telling you when you're being pinged. By then, it's too late.
Jammers are, as noted, illegal.
First part, yes if you're the only car on that stretch of road, otherwise reflections and radiation travelling beyond cars in front of you will be registered by a good detector.Jammers are, as noted, illegal.
Second part, definitely not legal and an unwise choice surely.
On 9 points I'd still say that a light right foot and good obs are needed for those momentary lapses in concentration that happen even with senior police officers.

Yes, every driver should have one. A right hand shoe that is lighter than air.
I have no idea what you're on about, you talk in odd riddles. He asked for a recommendation for a speed trap detector, I tried to help.

Waze.
Has saved my bacon on two occasions in the last 2 years, literally stopped me going past a camera van at +20 which would have been tiresome.
I religiously report camera vans that I see as a result....
I've been trying Waze. I just wish it warned of ALL speed cameras rather than just when I'm over the limit. I use it but not comfortable relying on Waze.Has saved my bacon on two occasions in the last 2 years, literally stopped me going past a camera van at +20 which would have been tiresome.

Any waze users you can set waze to open up with it. The comments about just use your eyes and drive to speed limits is not that easy. I do 40k a year with no points for 7 years just been done doing 38 in a 30 on a Gatso i pass 2 or 3 times a week ,feel an absoloute idiot but it happens, If I had had a detector on or my Tom Tom it would have jolted me out of my hypnotic driving

I tried the 'CamerAlert' app with that database. It drove me mad with false alarms every couple of minutes, I hated it.Any waze users you can set waze to open up with it. Now if I could find a way to configure Waze to warn of ALL fixed cameras.

Hi
Running on 9 points now so need to get a detector
What's the best one
Would you risk fitting a radar jammer too? Do they work?
Paintman is right. The only reliable cure is your right foot. Trouble is that the latest detectors work like a rifle. They arent emitting all the time for a detector to detect. Instead they are triggered by the operator so the best you can hope for is for the detector to catch some of the signal bounced off another car. Whats more they work at long ranges. So like as not by the time a detector triggers its too late.Running on 9 points now so need to get a detector

As for jammers, you are in dangerous territory. Trouble is the judges see jammers as showing contempt for the legal system that they worship. So you are quite likely to get jailed for perverting the course of justice rather than fined for speeding. Someone has just gone down for exactly that.
Way I see it is that you have had 9 points of fun. Wait for a few years to scrub that lot off and then have another 9 points worth.
