Mine expires in November, but does anyone know if there a window when you have to send it off?

Sssh. Next thing is, that'll be the next justification for ID cards.

Especially considering those who still have the old licence and haven't moved house or changed entitlements don't have a photo at all.
Thats me , last time i picked up 3 points they just wrote them on in biro.

I must be getting old, handed my Driving license over for ID the other day and young chap turns it over a few times and then tells me they cant accept non UK licenses as ID ...... oh how I laughed.

It appears I now fall under this. However, I am away to Amsterdam at the end of the month and want some form of ID on me, rather than taking my passport out.

Can I do this when I get home, or will I get my pants pulled down?

FWIW, I drove for over a year on an expired photocard (tut, tut), thankfully I never got pulled over. The only issue I had was hiring cars, albeit out of the 10 or so times I hired in that period only one refused me, it was noticed a couple of times but they didn't care.

When I went to renew it they didn't give me any hassle for being late.

It might be useful to know I did mine online.

You can put in your passport number and by magic your photo comes up, and you get the option to use that photo on your licence.

My licence arrived in the post literally 4 days later. I was shocked!

Thanks Justin. Just ended up doing this online - no passport photo, but did use my passport number. However, mine does need renewed in 6 months so not sure they will take this.
