I bet it's all organic muesli bars and skimmed milk in your ( decaffeinated) tea now. Fred Wedlock did a show at a Fed AGM once and remarked how healthy we all seemed considering our diet consisted almost entirely of fish and chips and beer. A remarkably accurate observation.

Lanes that mincabbers without a paying customer can use yet the emergency services on patrol cannot. What a strange thing the law is.

Depends what area though, they certainly can't use them legally here.

Much as I think the police have a PR problem, and much as I despise authority, I think BIB should be allowed to travel in bus lanes when in police vehicles and on duty. I'd rather them be as efficient as they can, and sitting waiting in traffic is not good use of scant resources.

I agree.

What about a doctor on his way to attend a patient in pain or discomfort?

What about firemen on their way to inspect premises?

What meals on wheels struggling to get round in time to provide an essential service?

What about the plumber on his way when you have a burst pipe and your house is being damaged?

Where would you stop?

Your argument seems to suggest that the bus lanes, bus gates and restrictions are righteous. I agree that where you draw the line can be an issue, but I suspect that local authority enforcement is a bigger problem.

Image an officer having to stand up in court and say "M'lud Iccan't be 100% sure as I couldn't afford to take a closer look lol.

Birmingham council just gets more stupid every day.
