Parking attendant ****wit
Discussion
Took a mate to Doncaster station. Pulled in and the drop off lay by was full of taxis as normal so pulled into a bay and mate got out and took his bag.
I then wrote a post on here and the parking git came over and said I needed a ticket even if I was still sat in the car.
I said 'right' put my window up, backed out and drove off. At which point he was writing my reg down. Am I now expecting a ticket?

Why would you? He asked you to move in a slightly less confrontational way than just telling you to shift which you did.
Did you not point out to him the drop-off point was full of taxis which is why you'd pulled into a bay or did you just get a huff-on and drive off?
I just said 'right' backed out and drove off. I didn't want a discussion as I'd finished my dropping off anyway. He defiantly looked at the plate, wrote it down then watched me as I left the carpark.Did you not point out to him the drop-off point was full of taxis which is why you'd pulled into a bay or did you just get a huff-on and drive off?
Just thinking if he decides to say I was parked illegally and something comes through the post its just on his word because he's decided to be a pain. Is there a buffer for me pulling in and a ticket being issued as I was there less than 5 minutes
I doubt you'll be getting a ticket as they would need your tax disc number too.
As just mentioned, it was just a less confrontional way of getting you to move.
Quite often you'll see traffic wardens noting down reg numbers but it's normally due to this whole "Maximum of 2 hours paid parking, no return within 2 hours" just to make sure you arean't coming back and putting another ticket in the car. He may even have been taking a note of your reg so if he sees you parked in a bay with no ticket he could point out that he has already warned you and that now he is going to write you a ticket.

Cheers, he may just stick it on the notice board to keep an eye out for and check haha.As just mentioned, it was just a less confrontional way of getting you to move.

Just been reading regulations and apparently need 5 minutes observation before issuing a ticket. Also you get 5 mins buffer at the end of your display. Didn't know that
To be fair, Calling him a f
kwit is a bit harsh. By your own admission you was no longer dropping anyone off, You was surfing (And replying to posts on) PH - So you was parked in a parking bay without a parking ticket. The fact you was sat in the car is irrelevant. His job is to stop people doing this, He hasn't given you a ticket he simply asked you to move on or buy a ticket in a polite way.

You were parked without paying for it; why wouldn't you expect a ticket?I then wrote a post on here and the parking git came over and said I needed a ticket even if I was still sat in the car.

The parking attendant was doing exactly what he was supposed to be doing, looking for ****wits who park without paying. There is only one ****wit in the piece you describe and it certainly is not the parking attendant.

This strikes me as the actions of someone who is parked, not someone who is dropping off.I then wrote a post on here and the parking git came over and said I needed a ticket even if I was still sat in the car.
