I was driving down through Vauxhall last night (8.00pm)and used a bus lane that used only to be active between 7.00am and 7.00pm - my girlriend then pointed out the lane was now "active" at all times. Assuming I get picked up by the cameras does anyone know if I get points as well as a fine and do I have to wait 14 days to see if they caught me

Thanks ....

I hate to admit it but I am more concerned about the points than the fine as I am just about to get a new insurance quote for the Tamora and another car.

Definately no points, £100 fine reduced to £50 if you pay it within 7 or 14 days (can't remember which).

How clear were the new signs? Any chance of arguing it? Of course the camera may have been pointing in the wrong direction so you may get away with it.

Nah, you won't get any points for driving in a bus lane.

Come and use the bus lanes in Cardiff... only £30 and no points!

No clamping or tow aways either!

No congestion charge.

Space in the car parks.

And beer is only £2:20

Only down side is the £4:90 entrance fee to get into Wales... oh and on the weekends, the women keep pestering you for sex.

My kid brother texted me earlier today asking me if there were any cameras on the M4 bus lane. I replied including comments about him being an idiot asking why he used it in the first place.

So if you saw a white Corolla GTi pretending to be a taxi this morning that will be my bro. He's now waiting for the post for 2 weeks (do they have a 2 week limit like the NIPs?).

That's another one of Red Ken's follies, namely making rush hour bus lanes operative 24x7. Totally unnecessary and motorist-hostile.

dont you mean £64.90 and 3 points when you include the first set of bridges and permanent 'safety van'?
ive seen more scameras in wales over that last year than i have ever seen driving in this country. no i havent got any points, and i want to keep it that way so no, i wont be going to wales again.
(sorry, not a dig at you b, just a shame that wales has this ridiculous attitude)
