yeah exactly what I was thinking. I would have thought the comp would be the first target. worth more than a moody Vidio player.

It depends what getaway the scrote has in mind. If his pad is close or his transport then fine. Otherwise he's got to lug the computer around with him....a laptop no problem...a full towercase though should put him off.

There's software available that automatically uploads captured images to your personal webspace A permanently connected broadband service helps.

Looks like he's used the same software I used to keep an eye on my pigeon while I was away.

How did the guy get 11 months inside when he was sentenced at a Magistrates' Court?

Magistrates can normally apply custodial sentences of up to 6 months (12 months if consecutive sentences)... so guess he was convicted of at least two counts. Further info if you're interested

Here's a BBC News report about this case:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cambridgeshire/4272041.stm

Apparently the computer was indeed stolen but the images were stored remotely.

According to the BBC news story, images/footage were automatically emailed to a known address. He did in fact steal the computer too.
