...as I've spent the last week or so trying to identify a driver. I now know who he is, and have a very good idea of where he lives.

He'll be getting arrested by me tomorrow for attempting to pervert the course of justice (or should I wait until Saturday afternoon, so he has to spend until Monday in the Police cells, waiting for Court ?).

And no, it's not someone for speeding; it's someone I arrested for drink driving, who gave false details. Due to an admin cockup, he was released from custody before his ID was confirmed (someone else dealt with him after I had gone off duty). He has since failed to appear at Court.

I'm guessing he thinks he's got away with it, as the original offence was 10 months ago. I've had the paperwork back for a couple of months, and have been doing a bit here and there, but have managed to achieve a lot on it this week, through various lines of enquiry.

I realise I shouldn't gloat, and will no doubt get flamed by some on here, but I don't care. He is in the wrong, not just for the original offence, but also for what he did afterwards, in an attempt to avoid prosecution (and he wasn't just a bit over the limit, he was three times over, and his driving was impaired).

Flame away, PHers.

P.S Is it true that most people trying to make up a false name to give to BiB usually have the first letter of both names the same.

Not usually. The old "Spidey Sense" normally goes into overdrive when someone's telling porkies.

It's quite easy to spot if someone you're dealing with outside is giving false details as there will be little inconsistencies in what they're telling you.

Plus, I don't trust anyone...

PHers are not known for their acceptance of drink-driving, in fact I believe that as a collection of dedicated drivers we're dead against it. Nick the person at the time least convenient to them. I hope there are no more cocks-up (that is correct English ) when it comes to the judicial process, I'd hate to see the idiot walk free and you to feel your hard work was wasted - Streaky

PPS - at least the Home Office will count the paperwork as "front-line policing"! - S

Although I'll be arresting him for att PCoPJ, he may well only be charged with "Obstruct Police".

However, if I time it right, he'll at least spend 36 hours in the Police cells...

There is a certain sense of satisfaction when getting a grip of those who think they're over and above the law.

I'm probably breaching all sorts of his human rights, but I know 99% where he'll be on Saturday afternoon, and who he'll be with (a crop of very z-list locals, who regard themselves as local "celebrities"). I shall take great personal pleasure in getting hold of him and arresting him, as I've heard through the grapevine he's been bragging recently about having got away with it.

And I'd like to see them all try and keep us out when we go a-knocking for him...

As my birthday is 01/01/82 maybe I should give false details to make sure they don't arrest me

Easiest way to tell if someone is lying about their birthday (I heard) is to ask them their star sign
