Hi John, whilst on a trip to Ireland recently I had my radar detector confiscated by a guard (off duty I think) in an unmarked car. Have you any experience in ''recovering'' these items from another police force and if so what are the prospects? D.D. p.s. If nothing else this serve as a warning to anyone else travelling to Ireland, even with the unit switched off it will be confiscated.

ALso are they still legal in the uk, i heard somthing about a change in the law ist june?

Not to sure on that one, as a general rule I would suggest that you will not have a good chance of getting it back. Certainly here when we do take some things it is as an alternative to prosecution for the offence commited.
