my grumpy got caught doing 120 a few weeks ago and he was gobsmacked when they let him off with a warning!! See there ARE some understanding BiB out there!!
I'm still incredulous about my friends mother (in her 70s) getting off scott free after being caught at 160+ driving a supercharged ZT-T V8 while her husband was dialling in the fuelling map from the passenger seat. I don't think you could get anything more blatant but her excuse was the throttle had stuck.... got to remember that one but I suspect I would need to be a 70 year old biddie in order to pull it off!

Do you think that he too will get away with this like the copper or do you think he will have the book thrown at him?
At least he can argue that that speed isn't necessarily dangerous, so may avoid a dangerous drving charge should they decide to pursue that angle.
But it all boils down to the exemption. Unless he has one, then he is stuffed.

He was sentenced to a 56-day driving ban and fined £175, with £35 costs.
I think he did ok
Still a shame though; you can do that speed (and more) quite legally in the Isle of Man without a problem.
Stupid outdated laws bewing made even more outdated (i.e. with lowered limits all over) and enforced with more vigour than ever. Crazy.
