Been stopped today in Glasgow on M8 for 75 in a 50 limit. Can anyone tell me what should be on the ticket police gave me as all it has is an ''offence'' box ticked, no mention of what the offence was. Steve

I am asuming that as you speed is 25mph above the limit he has not issued you with a fixed penalty and has reported you for speeding and issued you with a HO/RT/1 requesting you to produce your doc's. All HO/RT/1's differ throughout the country slightly ours have things like verbal advice,VDRS,RTA,and summons boxes. So in your case the offence box will have been ticked suggesting that you have been reported for an offence ie speeding. I would therefore expect to get a summons on your doormat in the next few weeks. We don't actually specify on the ticket what the offence was.Let us know what happens. Harifest, Mate was done going down to Biggar, couple of years ago. Got the same thing for doing 86 over the tops, sorry to say in a Passat Diesel!!! Anyway, got an NIP after god knows how long (should have appealed against it!!) and just replied saying i was very sorry and wouldnt do 1t again. Basically got 4 points and £150 no court appearance.
