Many years ago (about 12/13) I got into a bit of bother with the BiB, which resulted in a visit to the Mags. At the time, I owned 2 cars, a 1957 Austin A35 and a Lancia Beta Coupe. I got caught using the Tax disc from the A35 in the Lancia.
As a result of this, I got banned for 3 months  and fined £30.00
After the shock of the ban wore off, I completely forgot about the fine. Until the other day.
My Mrs is a childminder, and to get Registration, we both have to undergo Police checks. Imagine my surprise (& embarassment)when I was reminded of the outstanding fine by a very kind OfSted lady.
I was mortified, but Mrs TypeR, who asumed that I'd always been a law abiding guy was rather taken aback.
I seem to have got away with it all this time, however, I'd like to do the right thing and cough up and clear my good(ish) name.
What to do guys&girls?

Hope there is no interest on it!

Alternatively, perhaps you could pay it on the drip just to cause as much hassle to the system as possible.

On a related issue, someone I know when but a wee nipper was spotted on a building site pratting around with a cement mixer along with a few mates. No damage, nothing much really, just one of those things mechanically minded lads do, how does this work, what does that bit do etc. Didn't even try to start it ffs!

Anyway the result was a visit to Ma and Pa from the local village bobby on his way to the pub for his evening pint, quiet word, just to let you know your *** has been seen. Someone could not sit down comfortably afterwards.

Years and years and years later incident forgotten about.

Until time for interview board re plod recruitment.

Doubtful, but possible, you may appear on BiB's record as wanted on warrant for non payment of fine, so if that is the case and subject of Police stop may have collar felt. They do, or used to, now and again have a clear out and warrants withdrawn. If this is the case you could well be in the clear.

If you want to clear the air then go and speak with the Justices Clerk of the Magistrates Court that you appeared at, or, as some others would advise sit tight but worry.

Also be aware that there is a shake up occuring in the field of fine collecetion with civvy posse hunters....

Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.....

Send them a cheque dated 1992, they might think it was lost in the post (and they won't be able to cash it that far out of date )
