I heard it. "Anyone marginally over the limit" etc. "Anyone caught at up to 39 mph in a 30 will be offered a speed awareness course". First time offenders only.

So, as I have said on several occasions, it now looks as if we will be done for 1 mph over. And this is spun as a less hostile course of action.

Ja - but when the three guys at our firm did theirs (two at 34 mph (one copped by the bloke under the blanket in the Hertz talivan in Garstang which was in tabloids at time ) und the other at 35 mph - all three said people were there who were on 3- 9 points but qualified as marginals on the offence cut off. So have they changed rule? Did send text und e-mail but not mentioned und our guy tried to phone in but line was busy

of the phone ins - one said they did not know NSL was 60 mph till they did this course. (Reps recalled one person coming out with that on their course.) und the other said advanced observation/anticipation techniques were taught. We texted to try to get the interviewer to talk COAST as we know this ist base of the course. Und mentioned a lot in the morning session und ist on the reps' feedback assessment forms as well.

Their stated intention is to make speeding as antisocial as drink driving.
I already know one idiot who does 50 on the motorway, complains about trucks tailgating him but believes he is as safe as houses because speed kills.

This must be why unrestricted German roads are knee deep in bodies, right? All this anti-car crap comes under intruction from Euro Marxists.

aye, i wise one of these simpletons would tell me WHAT speed kills - then i can avoid going at that speed...

as it is i've done 400-500mph and i havent killed anyone...

I'm sure they wont be happy till theres a bloke infront with a red flag again.

If they REALLY wanted to make it socially unacceptable to speed then wouldnt the emphasis be on the signs that flash up your speed, rather than a blinding flash?

True, but isn't it interesting that 39 in a 30 now counts as "marginally over the limit"? It never has before. This blows the new variable points law right out of the water (if it ever becomes law, that is).

What a shame the same leeway doesn't apply on motorways. 30% over the limit would take us to 91!

Part of the problem was the obvious one-sided bias of the interviewees, adn teh lack of jeremy vine presenting .. the stand-in was a limp wristed leftie weed .. JV would have given a balanced reasoned argument for both sides as is his way .. this stand-in guy was pathetic
