I can't believe the bad luck I experience when I park in the west end of Glasgow. The latest to happen is some pikey has nicked my bloody number plates! Well more accurately a student I would expect. Why? What purpose will it serve apart from being a big inconvenience to me?

Cheaper than paying Gatso induced speeding fines. Report it, before brown envelopes start landing on your door mat...

All done chaps. Got my crime ref number and the copper says he's logged it on the PNC. He then offered me victim support, but then said they would probably take the piss! I was quite impressed with the service of Strathclyde's finest, actually.

The only downside is that once you get replacements made up, you'll start to get stopped every time you pass an ANPR van.

Another tip - get a distinctive sticker on the back of your car (Ted does a good range ) so that you can differentiate pics of your car from those of thieving pikey scum that will appear on a GATSO near you soon.

As my wife found out, usually used for theft of petrol from fourcourts, bank jobs & ram raids . Await response from bib........

DVLA are completely useless when it comes to sorting this out, no they don't have a specific method for dealing with it & to have new numbers issued you have to go in person to a DVLA office. Do not even consider ringing as its basically a time wasting exercise that gets you nowhere

As the policeman who came to visit my wife said, he was dealing with about 4 or 5 cases a week from the Bristol area.

Great, now you can set off as many speed cameras as you like.

Or drive something unlikely to be used by crims, like a 2CV, or a TR6.

Having said that, the gangsters in Belleville Rendezvous used souped up 2CVs...

Sorry to hear it's happened to you. I think it happened to me a few years ago when a car just like mine was caught speeding on the M1 when I was in Essex.

BTW, I was worried about what you meant, "do not consider ringing". At first I thought you were talking about getting someone else's number plate -- and perhaps VIN....
