I got an sp60 for a fixed penalty.
Queried SP60 as suggested by the beloved Paul Smith, THey have told me today to change it on my loscence as they have had a directive from the goverment to amend all sp60's to 30's as they are incorrect but this will only happen if you call your local fixed penalty office.
At least the insurance won't go up now

This came from Kents fixed penalty offic

Are they asking you to change it yourself?

In that case why not cross it out all together. There is NO WAY ON GODS EARTH I would be altering something on my driving licence, its probably an offence that can earn you a fine and points.

Bounce the problem back to them, or maybe theyve endorsed your licence illegally and it isnt valid? This belongs in SP&L I think.

I'm with you - be careful mate unless you've got it in writing.

Isn't SP60 just the motorway version of SP30? My dad has an SP60 and had just the same fine and points as my SP30.

No according to coding an sp60 is for undefined speed. Yes it carries the same pionts as an sp30 but insurance companies treat them differently.According to the dvla a motorway offence should be an sp50.

My wife was told to cross out an SP40 and replace it with an SP30 when it came through wrong. she did and nearly got into serious trouble when she sent her licence off for a second endorcement..

leave it well alone!!

My mothers speeding endorsements (from 20 years ago) were/are hand written on her orginal paper license.

I would need a letter from the Plod telling me to do this before I wrote anything on my license.
