I like this bit:

"...Mid and South Wales Safety Camera Partnership has refused to release the figures, saying they are exempt from disclosure under the Act..."

It's nice to see these businesses are maintaining their sneaky / shifty ways; but why change the habit of a lifetime?

And if you ever needed an example of a New labour non-job it must be the Freedom of Information Officer at a scameraship!

I go on that road at least once a month and according to the snooper those 2 scameras are ALWAYS live. A 50mph limit section of the M4 it must be a great little earner.

Well if you ask a man in the street how much he earns you'll get a funny look and a refusal. So its no wonder that the camera partnership doesn't want people to know what they earn.

Yeah but a scamera partnership is not-for-profit surely. Don't charities have to have publicly viewable accounts?

Very interesting. I note that North Wales managed to spend virtualy all of their ill gotten gains. Amazing how the figures just add up so neatly like that

The accounts of every public authority can be examined during the audit period, you can view the invoices, receipts and contracts and make representations to the auditor. I believe the police audit period is in July and councils August/September.
