Anyone want to bed on the case being quietly dropped?
No to be fair to this country just about everyone who is legal gets shafted by these things. Kinnock has been a naughty boy before.
See this I would guess mid/late 90's eco whacko web site for the details
Neil Kinnock.
"Former Labour leader Neil Kinnock will apear in court this month - to face a motorway speeding charge. Police claim that Mr Kinnock was doing 103 mph when his car was stopped by a traffic patrol .." "Ex-Labour leader Neil Kinnock was banned for a week and fined £140 yesterday for doing 100mph. It’s his second speeding offence this year, a Safron Walden court heard." This just goes to show what this socialist eco-nazis thinks about the Earth. He is currently the european commissioner for transport. His task, which he pursues with great zeal, is to promote massive european wide road building projects in order to encourage even more motorists to speed as fast as they can across europe.
Even fatty two Jags has got previous. Those of you with very long memories will remember that Kinnock rolled one of the first Sierras on the M4 in the early 80's. I think he claimed it was tiredness.

Hmm. So they moved the English based offence to the Welsh court ... well I never.
Presumably the speeds were quite extreme for the temporary limits if not the road conditions. Unless he already has a few points in his collection.
Would they be brazen enough to try and make the offence one and give him one fine and set of points for both

Is there such a thing as a 'Welsh court'? The law in Wales is the same as England - it's not like moving it to a Scottish court.
Wonder how fast he was going - presume he was outside the scope of a fixed penalty.

And a Magistates' Court not too far from the area he represented. Don't know about elsewhwere but in this part of the world political parties are very well represented by their members sitting as Magistrates.
And the predominant party in that area is.....?
Mmmm........
Very well observed BigBob. Much more room for manoeuvres I would have thought. One might almost wonder if the second offence was a deliberate one judged to be useful for getting the first case moved. I guess only his legal advisors could answer that one.
OK, maybe I am becoming too cynical. But let's face it, the way the current pack of politicians has been acting nothing would surprise me, not matter how small the nature of the problem in national terms.
