IF a person was taking a car for a pre-booked MOT within the 1 months advance period of grace, (if you know what I mean),and the car was subject to a SORN up to the MOT due date, would they be breaking the law and therefore subject to a ticketing?

Try looking on the DVLA site?

The answer ought to be NO - otherwise how would one MOT a car which had been SORNd? You need a tax disk to stop it being SORN, and you need an MOT to get a tax disk. I can see that one going down well in court!

AFAIK, Dangerous if its like when you register a Kit-car you have to be insured and provided the MOT is pre-booked then you are okay.

But just in case (of not passing the MOT straightaway), you might want to consider getting your road tax on the basis of the existing, valid, MOT certificate?
