D*mn!!
Do they measure the speed between the two sets of cameras? ie either side of the service station?
They are average speed cameras - so they time you at point A, then at point B. Speed = Distance/Time. Do they measure the speed between the two sets of cameras? ie either side of the service station?
There is a get out - just change lanes between the cameras
- they are unable to detect this behaviour...puggit said:

This lane changing get out issue, at that point on the M4 there are 3 lanes of traffic, theres only 2 sets of cameras, side by side so I assume they only monitor 2 lanes? It looks like the middle & outside lane are focused on.
Another idea I thought of is if you have gone through a bit quick & cant remember which lane you went through the first set of cameras then get right up behind a truck as you go through the 2nd set, right on his bumper, surely if they cant even see the car let alone the front plate they have no hope. It may not be very safe for a few moments but..
However the cameras in the pic look as though they get you from behind aswell, can one camera take from the front then the other a mile or so down the road get you from behind?

I had assumed this was a new approach to catch bikes? All the other setups I have seen are front facing only - the M25 at Chorleywood and at the A10 and all the way through the widening on the M1
