Oh it's true alright but it sounds like something out of a comedy sketch

Oh dear.
It does sound ridiculous - but, between stages, on public roads you'd have thought that the professional drivers would have taken extra care not to bring the sport into disrepute. This just gives the anti-speed lobby a chance to attack motorsport.
Trust me. The fcukers are going to have a go at getting motorsport banned because it sets a bad example of high speed driving - rallying particularly so as it is often held on something approximating a road - whereas a circuit is clearly different.
Of course...in any other country this farce would not be happening...

Too right it's true.
Good old welsh chief constable - lets waste lots of money prosecuting these people - with foreign licences and a small amount of driving skill, rubbish cars, naff brakes, slow reaction times.
Why oh why.
Guess the rally ticket price this year will go up to sub the drivers' speeding tickets!

Mornin all , , got told by a mate last night that the welsh police had set up a talivan durning the WRC last year and had nabbed nearly all of the rally drivers going between events , anyone know if its true , i dont beleive it my self ,
I'm camping in wales this weekend.
I swore I'd never go back there but the scenery makes up for the to55ers that police the place.
After last time the plate is going to be covered.

Indeed I've often thought it odd that racing is allowed in the UK any more and particularly in Northants, where enforcement is 'anal' in the extreme, they have Silverstone - home of F1, Rockingham motor speedway, Santa Pod etc all places where 200mph+ is practised
how long can that last in 'speed-kills' Britain? I mean they can't even have Cigarette ads on the race machines (except F1 thanks to Bernie's bung to B'liar!) 'coz smoking kills but we all know that speeding is really the most heious of crimes
