Unbelievable WTF wee warmer from local plod
Discussion
We've just had a security flyer through the door from our neighbourhood watch bobby, highlighting ways in which we can all improve security.
Amongst which is the following gem:
If you have walls with rounded tops then think about putting trellised fencing on top to deter thieves climbing the walls. Do not use barbed or razor wire, or embed glass in concrete, as you could be held liable for any injuries caused.
W..........T..........F!
That is unbelievable! Poor little burglar may scratch his hands on your wall and claim damages!! f
king scrotes deserve anything they f
king get!

Can't remember which legislation it is but it basically states you have a duty to a reasonable degree to make sure no one gets hurt on your property. It makes sense when you think of the legal implied permission people e.g. postman have. It wouldn't be great if they fell into a Bear pit.
The downside is of course not being able to set death traps for criminals. I would think the public interest argument against prosecuting someone whose property has injured a criminal would be rather low.

I'd say its a heads up, they're telling people not to fall foul of anything.
At what point do we stop interfering with People's Lifes? God, what a Nanny state we live in!
People wear High Vis jackets for working in a shop these days!
Don't do this, that is wrong....Why cannot people decide for themselves!
Do the state think they have the moral and right judgement on everything in life?
Heads up their own backsides if you ask me.
If you don't want to fall foul of anything, don't have any posessions or a house/flat
that way they cannot get stolen and broken into....if you do...its your fault anyway!

And if you have a "Beware of the Dog" sign, if a wannabe burglar gets nipped by your hound, you will be prosecuted BECAUSE you put a warning sign up, ipso facto you are recognising your dog is dangerous. Boll'ox to this whole cruppy system I say.
Does this mean guard dogs are outlawed?Hedders said:

Does this mean guard dogs are outlawed? If you think that is bad get this:
On the north west news there was a court case of two company directors taken to court for damages...
They got so annoyed with kids breaking into their company property they bought a 'scarer' - a gunpowder banger when an intruder enters. Harmless unless you are touching it.
A kid broke into the compound and STOLE the banger. He took it home and messed about with it with his mates. It went off in his hands...
Now the parents - did they chastise the boy!? No, they were there at the criminal case which the company directors were found not guilty to tell the cameras they would be suing them for damages to their kid.
F*ck me. Next a burglar will sue me because they stole a knife and cut themselves with it cooking dinner a month later...
