New scamera?

BEWARE!!
There is, what appears to be, a new scamera sited on the A38 at Patchway, north of Bristol, facing southbound. I presume it must be a scamera as it is painted yellow, mounted on a 3 mt. pole and safely protected behind a large road sign. There is a grid in the road which I presume is the trigger. If you are very lucky you can be relieved of your cash twice as there is another one 75 mts. up the road.

Hang on doesn't the A38 in Patchway go from east to west?

Oops, ignore me. The A38 comes south before coming under the motorway at Almondsbury. I guess you mean as you drive away from the motorway towards Bristol?
If there is a camera 75 metres further up the road would it be just before the toyota and Esso garages on your left?

Well, if its 75m before the existing one as you head towards Bristol, then its in the dip where the A38 goes under the junction for Patchway/Cribbs Causeway just before you get to the Esso & Toyota dealerships on your left.

Probably put a 2nd one in there as the 1st is probably one of the biggest earners in the area (mutual female friend of ours got zapped 3 times by this one last year )

The original scamera is in the middle of the dual carriageway past the dip, the new one is further on past the Esso garage , before the shops on the left.

Ah I see - to catch everyone who speeds up once past the camera!

Beware... the BiB often take laser pot shots from the bridge over the A38 just here as well.

Actually, a camera just b4 the shops would be better positioned than the original, as there are no end of muppets who cross the dual carriageway on foot there (clambering over the railings etc to do so).

Just spoken to my mum, who saw something on the local news. Apparently its one of a flock of new digital cameras being put in around Bristol / Gloucestershire and they're all going to be on these extra tall posts (presumably to "hide them in plain sight")

Also makes it harder to put a burning tyre around them. Maybe some form of homemade rocket launcher is required?

I did notice this morning that someone has removed the lower portion of the sign thus making the offending item just visible
