I've posted this before and been shouted down. NHS management is not fit for purpose.
Of course that's a generalisation. Of course there are some excellent managers but the majority are not fit to hold their positions and it is exacerbated by a bullying, dishonest and defensive culture. Client confidentiality prevents me stating all the things I have seen. It makes me sick to my stomach. I have written to Chief Executives and MPs with evidence of misconduct and it is brushed aside. Arrangements with the press mean that criticisms are suppressed.
Things only enter the public domain when the incompetence, dishonesty and self interest is simply overwhelmed by the scale and nature of the problems. These cases are not isolated - they are the tip of an iceberg. The CQC is equally unfit for purpose.
Nothing will change. It is too big, too political and too protected to be subjected to the kind of root and branch restructuring that is the only hope of returning to competence and professionalism. It will never happen.
Watch out, that's "Our NHS" you're daring to criticize there ! Maybe if it ever goes back to being "The" NHS in political debate, there might be a chance of looking properly at the failings.Of course that's a generalisation. Watch the focus being maintained on a psychopathic nurse. The arrogance of the current management keeping quiet today. BS from the former SMT. Not a single person will be fired or prosecuted aside from Letby.
This has the same level of derangement as David Fuller , she just isn't wired in, got away with it the first time and kept feeding some sort of mental disorder by continuing to commit what she has done.
I just feel for the parents and regret and anger they must be feeling tonight as this comes to the end of it.

I know. Sacred cows and angels and all that. I'll never change my opinion because unlike the vast majority of people who only have experience via medical treatment, I have seen what goes on behind the scenes. I'm sorry to say that very few public sector organisations are much better.

I see the chief exec at the time is now interim chief exec in Liverpool...Watch the focus being maintained on a psychopathic nurse. The arrogance of the current management keeping quiet today. BS from the former SMT. Not a single person will be fired or prosecuted aside from Letby.

I'm assuming that the media and Politicians will now carry out a 24/7 assassination campaign against the nursing profession, tell the public not to approach nurses, demand their private phones be handed over for examination, call for root and branch reform of nursing and demand an enquiry that assumes all nurses are evil murderers.
That's how it works right? Or is that just reserved for Police Officers?
The difference is Nurses condemn what happened. They don’t have a wall of silence or a culture of this. That's how it works right? Or is that just reserved for Police Officers?
A lot of her colleagues did the right thing, raised concerns and testified against her.

Are you seriously suggesting Police Officers cheered for him? Seriously?A lot of her colleagues did the right thing, raised concerns and testified against her.

Wall of silence? Culture?
You've just proved my point.

I've not been following this case but learning that warnings were ignored reminds me that Devon & Cornwall police were warned at least twice by their own officers about the potential issues of using an Emergency Response Belt as a spit guard before officers used one to snuff out mentally ill Thomas Orchard in a police cell on 3 October 2012.

She has maintained her innocence throughout.
All the evidence is circumstantial.
Upwards of 20 murders/attempted murders and not once is there a witness to anything.
Something is wrong here?

This was posted on twitter by Richard Gill. One of the guys involved in helping overturn the conviction of the Dutch nurse https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucia_de_Berk
Whether this conviction will follow a similar path in future?

Strangest murder case ever really, in terms of the gravity of the crimes vs lack of direct evidence, clear motive or any previous examples of psychopathy.
With Beverly Allit, I remember her boyfriend giving interviews after the trial indicating how nutty she was. Nothing remotely like this here.
I think I read on here that an investigative journalist has already produced a lengthy analysis of why the conviction might be unsafe. With Beverly Allit, I remember her boyfriend giving interviews after the trial indicating how nutty she was. Nothing remotely like this here.
Anyone thinking she might be innocent, please research this properly before commenting. Just one example, she was on shift every time this happened. Across the hundreds of hours staff spent with the children, one thing was consistent, she was on shift, and usually alone, with the infants prior to their collapse.
The jury must have found this all so hard, but they have deemed her guilty beyond reasonable doubt. She is as guilty as sin and I hope she rots.
