Nasty attack on female motorist by cyclist.
Discussion
Him punching her in the head and leaving her with a perforated eardrum means we don't need to hear the other half of the story.
What a big man 'athletic build' and goes round punching some woman in the head.
btw I'm a cyclist amongst other things and even when people have done things that have endangered my life I haven't felt like punching them in the head.

Well I was going to be the voice of impartiality, then I read:
"He is described as being white, between 30 to 35 years old, and of athletic build. He was wearing dark or purple leggings with neon flashes on the side, a black and grey helmet, and he was riding what has been described as a hybrid-type bike."
Hang him.

Why is it relevant that he happened to be cycling before the assault? Trying to stir up arguments by creating these 'opposing groups' such as motorists/cyclists/bikers is pathetic. People are people, their mode of transport doesn't define their character.
Because the person who assaulted the woman was a CYCLIST. She wasn't assaulted by a lorry driver so there's no point the police asking for people to look out for a lorry driver. They are trying to identify the CYCLIST because it's a CYCLIST who attached the woman so it's a CYCLIST the police are looking for.
Why is that difficult to understand ? I's not trying to stir up arguments at all. If it had been a black man the police would have said a black man between 30-35 . . . but he was white, so they said he was white. He also happened to be a cyclist . . . and also of athletic build so not a bloater like 75% of the population.
So we need to find a white, athletic, cyclist between 30-35. That's not racist so it's also not anti-cyclist or anti-athletically built people.

If she couldn't even tell whether she'd hit him or not, perhaps her car should be checked for evidence of other hit and runs...
Other hit and runs where she got out of the car ? The Edinburgh Evening News puts it thus:"Fearing she may have struck a cyclist, she stopped at the side of the road and got out of her car,"
I don't know about you, but I would bloody well know if I'd hit a cyclist or not.
Anyway as mentioned above, half a story and top trolling from the OP.
EFspelling.

This concerns me: "the woman thought she had collided with him and pulled over"

You overtake a cyclist leaving the requisite amount of room, before moving back to the left you see the cyclist wobbling and falling off as they've hit a pothole and just fallen off.If she couldn't even tell whether she'd hit him or not, perhaps her car should be checked for evidence of other hit and runs...
You are certain that you didn't hit them or cause them to fall off but surely you'd stop and get out to see if they are alright. Or?

So reversing is the wrong answer? :unsure:You are certain that you didn't hit them or cause them to fall off but surely you'd stop and get out to see if they are alright. Or?

Full on hit, yes. Brushed their shoulder, got a bit too close and made them wobble...who knows. At least she stopped, no ?About as much justification for violence as the "pedestrian playing chicken so I just charged him" one i.e. None.
Although clearly "slapping the cow upside the head a bit" would be justifiable for many of the PH two wheel massive
End of day this guy could have been green driving a Nissian Micra convertable... It really doesn't matter. He obviously hit this women fairly hard to cause the injury she sustained and deserves a hell of alot more than he will get when he ends up in court.
No excuse for ever hitting an unarmed women, this scum deserves a prison cell and a nice gay fella called Baz weighting 25 stone as a cell mate.
