To me the overtake looked safe, car would have got to that speed quickly, it was the camera van and the reaction to it that caused the problem. Looked like the bikes had to brake as well due to the Porsche slowing down so rapidly.

Interesting comment from one off the riders on the Dail Mail site from when they reported the story

I was one of the motorcyclists, third one back in the orange vest. We were doing training for our module 2 motorcycle test with BikeSkool based in Mansfield, Notts. The driver was unlucky to be caught, the road is wide, long and open - an ideal spot to overtake. He executed the manouver properly, but gave it a few too many 'beans', I thought he would have been going over 113mph, judging by the barrage of sound the 911 Turbo was giving off! The camera van sitting there made it unsafe as it caused the driver to over react - thats all there is to it. I feel sorry for Mr. Judd
