Headlight Dipping
Discussion
What is it with the recent and increasing trend for people not to dip their headlights until they see you dip yours, and for them to assume that if they don't actually see you dip yours, that you haven't, so not to dip theirs? Look, guys, I saw you coming ages ago and dipped my lights before you came round the corner, so stop bloody dazzling me, OK?
HC Rule 94: You MUST NOT
* use any lights in a way which would dazzle or cause discomfort to other road users
And no, my headlights do not need adjusting.

Many moons ago I had a car (cant remember which one now) which had a F and R printed on the dashboard light that came on when the fogs were turned on. Very good but I guess the letters interfered with the designer aesthetics ....
Not using words saves the cost and inconvenience of (i) having the words translated & (ii) making a different dashboard for each different language market. That's why 'Merkin cars have words on everything - 'cos they don't GAS.

i might be being a bit pedantic, but for ages i've thought there should be some kind of test when you buy a new car, to prove you know what knob does what, and what that 'funny' light on the dash is for.
I was sitting in a traffic jam once behind some numpty with his rear fogs on, even though it wasn't foggy. After a while, I got out and tapped on his window and asked him to switch them off. His reply was "This car doesn't have rear fogs." "Yes, it does", I replied, pointing at the illuminated switch on his dashboard. He pushed it and the lights went out. "I wondered what that did", he said.
Sigh.
