Right I'll keep it short and pretty anonomous.

My car was parked at my place of work, on leaving work to go home there is a note on the window "sell your car I will pay cash, ring *************" Now my car is parked about 1/4mile off public roads so I presumed it would be from someone working in the units next door.

So I ring the number and say "yes I want to sell the car, shall I pop over and meet you" then he said "no mate I live 60 miles away" anyway they basically made out that I had no choice they where taking the car. So I sold it to them later that evening in a public place.

Today the police are round, the car has been used in crimes and all the occupants of the car are being held in the nick.

I dont want to be involved with these people one bit, the police told me to ring the DVLA and ask for my details to be removed from the log book but on ringing them they are not helpfull and say that the people who took the car can have all the info on me they like. Now I dont really want any comeback on this any ideas ? I thought a letter to the DVLA may help sort things out, other than that I have no idea.

Cheers Gaz

Facelmob you are correct I did do the V5 properly and have the large part ready to send off, however I am now attaching a covering letter stating the problem.
