Speeding case thrown out due to cop error

Daily Post today has the case of a guy allegedly caught doing 87 mph in van. Case was thrown out as the cop did not check the accuracy of the laser gun at the end of his shift.
He claims he checked it at the start of his shift!
Perhaps someone doing 87 mph in van needs to be nicked but that's another issue.

Perhaps, but many Sprinter / Veedub vans are quicker than your average family hatch flat out. Wouldn't be a good move if it's fully-laden though.
The van belonged to Help the Aged. I trust it was not full of seniors.
Charity stuff maybe.
