Banned after 6 points in 2 years?

I've just been told that if you receive 6 points within 2 years of passing your test, then you receive a ban under the totting up rule?

Is this accurate?

If so, I can't believe it! Dammit, the attitude to traffic policing policy HAS to CHANGE.

Unbelievable.

With 14% of drivers in London being nicked for 1 offence per year by 2003, then there are going to be alot of upset and unlucky new drivers out there.

It isn't so much the rule that upsets me, it's the attitude to punishment that raises my hackles.

Grrrr.
