Evening all.

Was heading towards dartford tunnel between jct 2 and 3 and I got flashed by one of the gantries, so these actually work I've been past loads of times before and never before has it flashed

If clocked at a true 80mph (as opposed to a few mph lower than that due to speedo overread) then you may be talking 3 points and £60, or a day off work on a speed awareness jobby if available.

The SPECS at the Dartford Crossing are now live.

I don't think they are as I haven't seen them flash even at 90-100 when they're showing limits (usually a phantom 40mph limit for an incident that doesn't exist in the middle of the night). Thats been for the last few weeks.

I've always just treated the whole of the M25 as gatso free tbh.
Not so. I've seen one go off just before the leatherhead junction on the south of the M25 CW.
Although in fairness the X5 who got flashed was doing 100+ quite easily.

Oh bks...... Better watch the letterbox then....

What are the upper limits on the 60mph section before they issue tickets on SPECS?

I've definitely seen them flash in the junc 8,9,10 area on my way to work. Luckily never at me, as I have been through them at over the variable limit.

Maybe they only flash if you are over the fixed 70 limit?

No idea of the current threshold for enforcement but, unless there has been a very recent (and drastic) policy change, you won't be hassled for anything lower than 10% plus 2mph over the limit.

Probably not. I now that they've never triggered at anything upto 90 in the few months I've been driving the route for work in both dirctions. This is the first time I've ever witnessed them going off.

Good to know, although it's still marginal as to if I was under their threshold - only a few more days to wait and worry then :0
