More than 30K over any limit puts you in this territory in France, that being said most of LE BIB are pretty reasonable and will let you go on your way IF you arent being an Ar*e
Cheers
I got zapped speeding last year on a s/c road. No idea what speed I was doing nor the speed limit but appeared remorseful and attempted to speak in his mother tongue so he didn't take it any further. I had to laugh when he explained that I abide by speed limits in my country so I should do the same in his. Errrr....
Cheers

This could provde expensive if it is.

Isnt it the swiss that then base the fines on the individuals personal wealth or salary?

Dupont it is the swiss that do this. Gary we may have means tested fines here (which I don't agree with) however in Switzerland it is far more punitive. This could provde expensive if it is.
To the chap who said 120mph isn't that much, the Swiss limit is around 75mph so they were over the limit by 45mph. I'd be surprised if you got away with your license even over here. It is well known how strict the Swiss are on speeding so doing it there is really stupid.

But it's all relevant though surely? is that not the point, £75 for a millionare is hardly gonna hurt the same as someone on minimum wage is it?
Gary
But the offense is the same, so the punishment should be the same.Gary
Or should a rich person get longer for murder, than a poor person. Just because he's got more money

Maybe a rich person should get 30 years and a poor person only 20

£75 is not.

Or do some just live off what they were left by someone else ?
I'm glad it's the way it is & a fine is set within the tariff at an amount that can be paid within 12 months.
