Speeding in Switzerland, especially by that margin is really asking for it though. Everybody knows how harsh they are on it, and this group should certainly have known.

Mind you, nothing worse on a hoon then having your car impounded!

I got zapped speeding last year on a s/c road. No idea what speed I was doing nor the speed limit but appeared remorseful and attempted to speak in his mother tongue so he didn't take it any further. I had to laugh when he explained that I abide by speed limits in my country so I should do the same in his. Errrr....

No, in this country we merely have laws whereby your car can be impounded on the basis of arbitary opinion without recourse to trial or appeal.

no, we just impound cars that have been left for five minutes longer than should have been, in parking bays that already require a second mortgage to afford, in a place where they are causing no obstruction...

Isnt it the swiss that then base the fines on the individuals personal wealth or salary?

Dupont it is the swiss that do this. Gary we may have means tested fines here (which I don't agree with) however in Switzerland it is far more punitive.

To the chap who said 120mph isn't that much, the Swiss limit is around 75mph so they were over the limit by 45mph. I'd be surprised if you got away with your license even over here. It is well known how strict the Swiss are on speeding so doing it there is really stupid.

20 years of time is worth the same to a millionaire as a homeless person.
