PCSOs are what they say on the tin, a helping hand and presence for the community good, but it seems that TPCSOs are simply people taken on as taffic wardens but given additional powers.

I learnt today that every single Thames Valley 'PCSO' is in fact a TPCSO and has undergone the 7 week course [the norm is 3 weeks for PCSOs] can any Thames Valley [T]PCSOs on site to confirm this?

It intrigued me that this was a subtle way to give [essentially] the Traffic Wardens work a better PR profile.

What the ferk is a TPCSO? Is it a Traffic "PCSO"? If so why?

Because Traffic Wardens dressed as 'faux coppers' are a lot cheaper?
