Adding bike licence to car licence
Discussion
I'm having a discussion with a relative and i'm sure i'm in the right.
Whats the ruling for having a driving licence for say 30 years and a bike licence for 1 year and then getting a speeding ticket? my uncle reckons that 2 speeding offences in less than 2 years means a ban, but i say as he passed the car test 30 years ago, the 6 point issue does not count in this

As above, the new drivers' legislation is applicable for a maximum of 2 years from when the licence holder first became qualified, not from when new entitlements are added to their licence.
And the accumulation of 6 points within 2 years of first becoming qualified does not result in a ban - it will result in the holder's licence being revoked (there is a difference).

Under the New Drivers Act your driving licence will be revoked if you build up six or more penalty points within two years of passing your first driving test. You’ll need to reapply for your driving licence as a learner driver and resit your driving test.
