Shame Porsche dont race the GT2 it would have kicked some american ass.

Which planet are you from? Planet Stupid?

If the Corvette can out handle a Ferrari 550 and is only a fraction slower in a straight line, how exactly are you expecting a Porker to beat it? The Corvettes passed the Porkers as if they were parked when I was watching them.

Good idea, the tape Richard gave me won't run in my player!

Make sure he takes the tape next Tuesday and we will then be able to show bennno exactly how Vettes don't handle

you miss the point the GT3 is a pretty standard road car, the GTS class cars (e.g. Corvette) are heavily modified to race.

A Porsche GT2 with a 700bhp turbo engine and GTS modifications would whoop a vette

My point is the Corvette GT cars that run in the US (standard road cars modifed for the track) aka GT3 Porsche equivalents, would be competitive.
GT2 Porsche? Didn't see it at Le Mans? So if it is so good why not?

Bennno, if Porsche are so fantastic then how come in your own long list of previous cars they only come up twice. You quite obviously don't put your money where ya mouth is, DO YOU ?

Go back to playing Project Gotham Racing or what ever it is you play and leave the rest of us to get on with life in the real world.

Oh, and whats this other thread you have been posting on 'TVR-unreliable-rubbish'....

Don't rise to this guy - he's about as popular as a fart in a spacesuit on other forums too. Take a look at his comments on this link:

Just finished watching the British GT's and the corvette was trounced by almost every other car out there, including 911's.

Good job there is 6 miles between each bend at Le Mans, gives the Vettes a sporting chance.

Porsches and Vettes. I like them both. Both very quick cars.

It's just that not everyone has a Vette. When was the last time you saw a Porsche - twice yesterday for a start...or were they Boxsters? They all look a bit too much the same.

It's a big fact to post about that a TVR survives 1,400 miles some of which is at "warp" speed! Goes to show the reliability of the cars. Every performance car should be able to survive 1,400 miles, some of which is at very spirited driving. Corvettes can, Vipers can and this is naturally expected and nothing to shout about, TVRs...well if they can it's something special and to tell the whole world about!

Surely if a Corvette costs A LOT less than a 911 GT2/3 or whatever and is already beating them on so many ocassions, then a Corvette which costs the same amount will have even better parts and better handling and really embarass Corvettes?

The Vettes don't need straights to be beating 911s, they can do it with corners.

The GT3 is a more purpose built track car, stripped out for racing, the Corvette isn't so it makes sense the Corvette has more adaptations to be made. Even if one car is more heavily modified to race in the same series/class or whatever, wouldn't the rules create a level playing field for fairness (perhaps to be fair on the Porsches).

A Porsche GT2 with a 700bhp turbo engine and GTS modifications would whoop a vette - A Corvette with similar or same modifications (except 700bhp can be attained by a C5R swap not necessarily by turbos) would give the 911 a fair chance. Compare like to like.

Do you ever track your TVR or are you worried that the car will fall to bits, and then you'll have to send the car to Blackpool and it will be in a long queue of TVRs to be repaired at a a factory with inadequate factors of production (machinery, HR, that sorta thing).

And if Corvettes have poor handling yet are beating Porsches and Ferraris on a racetrack with lots of different types of corners to negotiate, then surely if Porsches are Ferraris are trailing behind then they have poorer handling, given your logic?

I agree the t350 was a heap and was sold long ago.

had a viper since (which opened my eyes to american cars) then a porsche again....

dont take the banter to heart, i almost imported a z-06 when the interest rate reached 1.93 recently, it would have made one 21k inc import duty, which seemed very good value

There is a man that walks this earth that some see as a god,his name...Jeremy Clarkson!,and around this globe he has many followers and believers and benno i believe you to be one of them.

Cast of those ill fitting jeans and pullover and curly wig and come unto thee of vette faith and attend the devine meeting of Elvington and TOB3 to see for your self wether vettes and other American plastic can handle, and on your education you can redeem yourself with a six pack or two.

But until then cease from your blasphamy as it is very clear you dont know what the FCUK your talking about.

I still remember that person who liked Skylines because Jeremy Clarkson liked them, but hated Corvettes and said they can't handle because that was what Jeremy Clarkson [incorrectly] said about the cars! That was really funny!

They run with intake restrictors to give the rest of the field a chance. From what I know the engines are being seriously starved of air and are pretty stock inside.

Also, any car with the engine hanging off the rear end is seriously flawed but then again it is a tuned volkswagen beetle LOL

Benno, you should have imported the Z06. You still can. I just imported a 2002 for under £27k and a similar car on Auto Trader today is £40k. That's a reasonable saving I'd say.

I won't join in the Porsche abusing because they are good cars and their continued evolution and development makes them one of the best VW's you can buy (LOL)- but then they start at £56k for the base model before leaping to over 60k and you're looking at 80k for the same power output so once again, we're talking incredible ability and huge power for a fraction of the cost of the Porsche. The fact that the Vette can beat a Porsche is something to be marvelled at, not envied.
