KVX on Fleabay, I knew the owner was selling it, he's in the local Taffia, it's a car not in the best condition, and also not in original condiiton. it's the car that got the S4 banned from the lotus 7/caterham racing championship coz it was beating the works Cat7's driven by their crap works driver 'Jez Coates', although KVX was privately owned and driven !!
I know the original builder of KVX, the car was originally a BVTC, in mustard yellow, original owner now runs an original KVA GT40 with serious BMW V8 power
Dieter
Good to finally meet you at Stoneleigh, I'll post the photo I took of you on this thread. ASAP

Ooops - Absolutely no offence was intended, but the British have this mental image of German's, in a similar way to a German's mental view of us Brits, I know this coz one of my best and oldest Drinking & Skiing mates comes from Stuttgart in the very fine land of Germany though he graduated in UC Cardiff, Wales. where I met him in the early 1970's when he commented on my original 7 which happened to be parked outside UC Cardiff at the time

Finally got around to fitting my new [Later type] Sidecreens, proved plenty of hassle, because the original screens 'twist & turn' catch, was mounted in a totally different position to the newer type.
Oh well - that's one of the joys of owning a kit car for you
Here's the rare picture of my car ready to accept the full Wet weather kit

Interesting - Where did you get these figures from?? email me if you don't want all the world to know JW wouldn't tell me when I asked for this info several years ago.

Mike - The link you posted doesn't work
New S4 Headlanp shells are available from most UK Autojumbles, I believe they've been re-manufactured, I paid £17 for one when I was rebuilding my car

Why fit an old BMW engine??
If you want the ultimate period engine - then a Ford BDA must qualify
Must have cost plenty of $ with all the MODs done to the car.
Love to see it in the flesh.
Good to see some variety in the S4's running gear though.
Anybody else fitted an unusual engine into an S4??
Post up on this thread if you have

Silverstone classics - not for me I'm afraid, I built mine to drive, not be criticised by some amateur Pedantic, from the HLR or L7 club
If you're that way inclined it's supposed to be a fair show though.
Anyone driving to the German village [eppynt] this weekend

Of course you're correct the S4 stands well apart from the S3, It's identifiable as a GENUINE Lotus 7 whether you like the 1970's design or not.
Sadly same can't be said for the S3, you could be looking at a genuine S3 - but are more likely to be viewing a westfield/Locost/locust/tiger/MK, or maybe even a sad R#b#n H##d.
With only 31 left in UK [source 'that' website] You're unlikely to see an S4 which probably suits you both
But for the owners of S4's that's a Huge plus over any S3 genuine or not

Like your pics of S4's here's a few more of S4's I/we've owned, I owned the orange dutton for 25 years, the orange Robin Hood I built was an abysmal kit - no it was appalling
>
I have to admit that after 40 years development the wife's Caterham does handle slightly better than my S4 but then thats 40 years R&D for you
A few models of s4 I collected at last years stoneleigh kitcar show, the boxed one was left in my car by person Unknown

An S4 is an S4 whether you like S4's or not, apart from the dheads and M team on L7 club blatchat, all comments I've had regarding mine have been positive. Yes bodywork is GRP or 'plastic' to most folks, but is that really a negative I don't think so.
