Posted on a couple of forums up north but thought I'd share here too :P

My R400 kit arrived this morning. Really chuffed with the colour. Not made a start to checking through the boxes yet, been like a wee boy looking at the big shiney bits. The finish looks great. One minor scuff on the nosecone which I'm sure will get sorted one way or another. Anyway, heres a few of the first photos. I'm really chuffed smile

Jolly well done! beer

And the "build" area looks like a quality job too, plenty of space to do the build

I must confess, I'm suprised that they deliver the kit "unprotected" as it were, plenty of space for it bounce around in the back of te van.

Enjoy the build!!

Hey Chris,

Well done, it looks great, and you also have a fantastic space to build it in.

Let me know if you have any questions or query's during your build, as I have built three of my own, and three others in the local lotus 7 club fraternity too.

My current Caterham is a Duratec R500 with Quaiffe Sequential box, so should be very similar to yours in many ways.

My Build pictures are here on webshots:

I have also built my own R400 K Series, and R300 K Series, a 1.8 Superlight R ( Mr Mars's Car) and my first Caterham a 1.8 Supersport.

Have great fun with your build and good luck!!

Nige.

Chris,

No probs, I will send you an email with my mobile so you can call if you get stuck.

I am sure you have been studying all those boxes with much enjoyment.

You might find that you have quite a few spares left over too.

Enjoy your first weekend of the build.

Nige.

Bookmarked.

Now that Esprit is coming to the end of his Exige rebuild, hopefully this will carry the torch.

Please ensure you post lots of photos and updates.

Unfortunately I've had a number of work commitments since the delivery and I'm now offshore for a couple of weeks. I do have 4 weeks off in December though so hope to make good progress! I did manage to make a start in the couple of spare hours I did have.....

The eagle eyed might notice an updated style of headlight mounts.

Looks like they may have modified the front shock mountings. The bolts seem a lot more accessible than when I built my R400 SV last year.

Yes, there does seem to be more space around the mounts. From what I can see, it looks like the body panel has a flatter profile than mine - looks like a much neater line now!

A shame the brake pads aren't in !!!!

Cant your dog do some of the build while you're away? He looks quite keen from the photograph!
