I've just bought a Caterham and I feel like I sit a lot higher than other Caterhams I've had.

I've googled it but, probably like the photos I've provided, the angle makes it difficult to tell.

How do I identify a lowered floor?

If I don't have them I plan to get it retrofitted.

Thanks

Look under the car.

From a side profile a lowered floor can be see by the floor been lower than the painted sides of the car.

I'm sorry, but you say you have had other Caterhams, yet you don't know what to look for...

Are you a millennial by any chance?

Bit of a useless comment, I'm an even younger 'gen Z' (97) and I design Formula 1 cars... rolleyes

OP - Did you push on with getting the lowered floors fitted? Or even just go around for a few quotes?
I'm contemplating the same with mine to lower my head slightly below the top of the windscreen... just wondering how you might have got on.

Yep I got it all done. Cost me about £1150 I think.

It may have only lowered me a couple of inches but it makes the world of difference, I feel like the car is a part of me now.

That's impressive F1. Being such a youngster I guess they only let you do more of the cosmetic bits, door handles and the like biggrin. Seriously though whats it like as a job?

Do you mind me asking where you ended up going?
I have quotes for £1200 or so from Lotus/Caterham Silverstone & £1300 from Sevens & Classics, so looks like they are in the right ballpark.

It's very good. Being at one of the smaller teams I was not pushed to doing the small jobs for long before taking on larger projects. They need people to cover more areas due to having 1 person to the larger (Merc / RBR / Ferrari) teams having 4 people for that role - pre budget-cap days mind you... Due to being so performance driven they don't have a stigma against giving younger designers more responsibility early on if they prove to be effective.

I got it done at Silverstone. I don't normally feel the need to go to main dealers for my Caterham, but I googled it a lot beforehand and saw a lot of people saying it's a lot of complicated work involving welding etc so you definitely want someone who knows what they're doing.
