Missed a £1, off perhaps? smile

I'd be very suspicious if an actual Caterham - a K-Series one at that - changed hands for £4k. Not to mention a bit alarmed. Mine was towards the bottom end of the pile when I bought it for two and a half times that six months ago.

Perhaps its realistic, and all caterham owners have been paying over the odds for years, it is a 12 year old car!!

I spoke to the owner and yes price was correct. He has used the car sparingly for track days and a little road use. It was sorned but road legal. The engine would benefit from a refresh- his words- the car had stood in the garage for a couple of years so one could assume fluids, beraings tyres etc may need some tlc.It was an old challenge car- 1400cc with dry sump as far as I know. I was hoping his viewer from Bristol today was going to drop out, sadly not as I missed out on a bargain.Surely he priced realistically bearing in mind that some work is needed. All these why did he not sell it for X mines worth Y etc etc posts are a bit pointless? I've bought and sold a number of cars "cheaply" but that is the point. If you buy right, do some work to it "adding value" and then choose to sell at a higher price then so be it. A certain garage has a ex race car which was bought for <£9k advertised at £14995! That is a profit but why not if the market is there.

Catgreenhorse - glad you managed to speak to the owner! The number on the advert was giving me an error message and no reply to my email. Ahh, well. We'll see what else comes up.
