Modifying K-Series VVC

Hi,
im thinking about modifying my engine in the winter.
What already has been done:
Head ported by Dave, Paul Ivey Valves, Piper 270 exhaust cam, Offset Dovels, maxspeeding h-rods with 160 pistons, ZandF ECU.
That gave 178 PS and 171 NM.
Now i want more
Questions:
- Does it make sense to change to omega pistons? That would increase compression and would allow to go for higher max rpm (when vvc mechs are removed)
- Does it make sense to install a blanking kit (with megasquirt ecu for example) but keep the original intake plenum? If yes, which cams should i use and what power is to expect?
