CR500 vs. ACB10 ??
Discussion
Hi Guys,
asking this in here as most of your guys will have experience on CR500 tyres, and some back to back with ACB10s ??
I'm interested in track performance only - and am aware of the camber changes req'd between the two..
paddock talk woudl suggest the ACB10 is worth "a second a lap" compared with a CR500, but woudl love to hear from anyone who have done proper tests on both and optimised their set up...
anyone have specific info to share ???
Mark.

interesting debate... would be lovely to have the facility and ££ to test all these tyres back to back on the same car, same track, same day - altering the set up to suit cross ply to radial obviously...
I do find the sizes of the 235/45/13 strange in terms of diamater though... 526mm is tiny campared to most, and strangely is 4mm less than the 215/50/13 front... obviously the car can be set up to run correct rake etc.. but becomes a pain when you fit more 'conventional' slicks or wets that are a fair bit larger at the rear..
Think i will test ACB10s initially, but may try Kumho's too at some point in the season...

If anyone has the 235/45/13 actually mounted on a 10" rim, would you mind measuring the circumference in mm or inches please ??
although the technical folk at Kumho have told me their measurements are mounted on rims... i can't understand why they woudl make a tyre so much smaller than any other......

thanks... are you using the Kumho's on the 8.5" rims on the same car that the 9.2/22/13 slicks on 10" rims ??
I have measured 9.2/22/13 avon slicks on 10" rims and they are quite a bit bigger than acb10s in 8/22/13 mounted up... so teh kumho would be quite a bit smaller again..
are you planning to run the kumhos on the busa caterham or the radical ??

thanks guys...
just very intrigued as to why Kumho decided on the strange size of their rear ryres vs the competitors... i can only imagine they were made for aone make championship or something... very strange.
think i will stick to the plan to go acb10 and maybe look for a 'wet' road legal pattern that is similar in size that can be mounted onto wide-ish rims..
