Pink champagne.it's rather nice but not Laurent Perrier.Nice bottle but far too acidic.
:scracthchin: The ones I've had have been fantastic, can you reccomend any others (I'm certainly no expert on rosé)

Have a search for Veuve Clicquot la Grande Dame Rosé 1990. From £350 per bottle.

Some places do sell a Jeroboam for £1400

Dom make a Rose, it is just hard to find. I believe the 88 was quite nice. I don't particularly care for the Rose/pink/blush champagnes myself...

Two words. Asti Spumante. Sublime.

Not a big drinker of the fizzy, Prolly taste it twice a year but Bollinger seems to go down quite well. I'd agree with the acidic Moet comments. Everything else, well, if it's tastes OK to me then it'd be a shame to to indulge eh...?

I was not particularly enamoured with Bollinger when I tried it.

Or you could buy a bottle of Moet and drop a couple of drops of ribena into it, same effect.

There are two basic Bollingers that are easy to find. The Special Cuvee (so-so) and the Grande Annee. If it was the Cuvee that you tried, give the Grande Annee a try. It is much better...

Veuve Cliquot is my favourite, the soft biscuityness is soooo drinkable. Also like Bollinger, for the apple crisp factor.

Agree with the comments on Moet, but did buy a lovely one in Rheims, silver and blue label, much softer, can't remember what they called it but it's irrelevant as they've stopped doing it now.

Also like the cheaper stuff for glugging: Mumm's, Freixenet, Tesco value fizz (alright, I made that one up).

ps, if you like Rioja try a bottle of Marques de Riscal with bangers and mash. It's fantastic!!

Freixenet is the standard guzzling champers in the Fish household.

Nice one, Mrs Fish! Minor hijack, how's the landie? We seem to have acquired a twenty year old 110 V8, guess who's been delegated to ring round the parts stores...?

The landie is still in bits, but he is slowly getting there with it. I leave it totally up to him, he decided to take it to bits so he can put it together

We've had to cut back after discovering the Freixenet habbit was costing us £50-£100 each month! Was nice stuff when it first came out and Tesways / Saferose /Waitburys stocked it for £4-£5, but now it's £8-£9 and seems more each week Anyone got a source abroad for cheaper supplies?

Its £7.99 a bottle in Sainsbury's, £5 a bottle in Costco. Just as good is Sainsbury's own Cava only £4 a bottle.

I don't often drink the good stuff as its so damn expensive and we can polish off a bottle in under an hour.

Too right, girrl! have to admit I'm quite excited by the new addition to the collection, so I don't mind at the moment (specially if I get paid in champers/bangers&mash&rioja!

If you are consuming quantities of champagne of questionable type, you could always try a few Florida specialities...

A Mimosa - tall class, two ice cubes. Fill with orange juice just over the cubes and then the rest with champagne

A Grand Mimosa - As above with a shot and a half of Grande Marnier...

...All the rage with the Palm Beach Garden Party set
