In common with last year (and the years before), I aim to get to the venue in time for a swim and sauna before the party begins. Who is up for a 12:00 leave from the A64/A1 junction (Spen Common Lane), stopping off at Woodall and possibly LFE (or Donnington) to arrive about 14:30.

I might be up for a rendezvous there on my way down from Jockland. Will let you know nearer the time (ie if the move's gone ahead).

I may blast down from further north to join up with you lot as I don't think anyone else from the NE is going.

Woodall Services at about 12:40 assuming we leave at 12:00 at usual travelling speeds.

More than welcome - although I'm sure there will be one or two from further north (shoutmawds)

How would Donnington services suit (rather than LFE) ?

Count me in Bob, unfortunately nothing too exciting to drive down in this year, more than likely a C Class demonstrator.

Mark, sounds like you're still a Merc salesman? If so, where are you based? (E-mail me if you prefer - I'm thinking of a change of family car in the next few months. Ta.)

Only problem with Donnington is that it is, quite frankly a pain in the @rs as it's such a bloody detour off the motorway to get to it and someone always ends up getting lost leaving it!

Do a few of the Yorkshire lot fancy meeting at the services on the M1 just after the M18 junction prior to sojourning further south? Or Wolley Edge even near J39?

Cheers

Martyn.

Martyn,

I already suggested Woodall services on the initial post. It allows the A1-M18 route for those of us coming from a bit further north. ETD given a midday start at Spen Common would be about 12:40 - ish.

Ah, did not read your post fully, sorry.

Yes, Woodhall would be sound.

Ditto that - will join up at the nearest services anyone's happy to stop at to J25 (Southbound). Technically, that's Donington, but I know what a pain that can be!

Just might even have a new car by then.

It's mostly now at the other end of the country.

And I think it's safe to say I'll have something that can keep up in convoy well before November.
