Advise on VXT problems

Can you experts give me some advise. I have a VXT 04 plate with 14k miles.
Two things
I have a knocking in the location of the rear wheel (nearside) only when below 30mph, sounds like suspension, but really thumps when you hit a pothole or cover. Off side sound.
Other thing is on reasonable hard acceleration I have a severe smell of burnt oil in the cock pit. This is normally happens on the first acceleration from cold.

Hi - might be your engine mounts that have gone. Common problem with the VX220s and sounds like the problem you have.
