Has the white lenses of the EU spec rear lights influenced your choice of car colour?

Red one has GT in a circle whilst grey one doesn't - wheels are horrible - lets hope when they actually make some they look ok.

Where is that UK spec car? Looks like a showroom.

As far as I know, the wheels on that car are the 20" machined alloys, which are not going to be available here. There are a couple of wheel options available in the US that look nice, hopefully Ford will put them on the options list here too.

In the meantime, on the Ford UK website;

I do prefer the standard GT wheels over the Custom Pack wheels.

Good Afternoon David.

Just a quick e-mail to confirm that I have past your Mustang reservation form through to my manager for him to forward to Ford UK.

Just to re-cap, the vehicle specification requested is as follows:

Ford Mustang Convertible 5.0 V8 in Deep Impact Blue with the Custom Pack.

Thank you very much for your business, and I will keep in touch.

Have Ford called you up to confirm order? The dealer response seems to be almost random, but Ford called me direct to confirm my order. But then again they also said firm order will be made in April.

I wonder who will actually get a car this year!

To be honest I don't really want it until next March / April as I'm getting a rag top and its just for summer use so it wont do much in Jan.
The dealers have not ordered the cars from Ford yet, they have a window to do this in may I think and then they find out how many they get.
Personally I think whilst we are all excited over it and it seems thousands will sell that the demand after a few months will level out as its still a very niche car that wont appeal to many because of the FORD badge. I am getting this as our family car (2 kids) and instead of a used Grancabrio or XKR and its great value for money.

The top one still looks to be US spec with Recaros, US side mirrors and no faux filler cap on the back. The bottom one appears to be a photoshop? Or at least the wheels are.

I've now sent the same email to them so let's wait and see.

Just in case you're interested, I've asked them about the Recaro seat option and if they have ANY definite details about UK production/delivery/timeframe/numbers/deposits etc etc.

As far as I can make out this colour is called Kona Blue (not Deep Impact Blue we'll get here) and was put on a special edition '50 year' version of the car. If the Ford UK website is to be believed (?!) the 'Lustre Nickel' wheels shown on this car are also different to the UK design. It seems like the custom pack wheels in the UK are just the black GT wheels painted silver. However, in the US the wheels shown on this car are described as 'Lustre Nickel' so maybe someone at Ford UK was just being lazy and photo-shopped the colours on the UK wheels not realising they were different designs. Who knows?

Regarding the Magnetic colour, a lot of the pictures here show it as a very grey colour when in reality (to my eyes at least), there is a brown-ish tint to it. Check out a new Mondeo at you local Ford dealer to see the actual colour (Deep Impact Blue also).

The photo was taken in Vegas. It was merely to show the chrome window surrounds.

Yep, appreciated. I thought it was worth pointing out the colour though, I was fooled the first time I saw that photo a few weeks ago - thought it was deep impact blue. At the moment I'm trying to decide whether to stick with Magnetic or change to the blue, but the differences in camera/photo quality and computer graphics cards means you can't really get an accurate idea of the colours without actually seeing them ... which is why I'd recommend that anyone having a similar dilemma make a trip to their local Ford dealer to look at the new Mondeo. I've seen Magnetic (and it does look nice) but not a blue one as yet to do an on-the-spot comparison.

You have 3 months to make your mind up - why the panic ?

You're clearly unaware of my decision making skills ... I'll change my mind at least 10 times between now and May .... I'm amazed I reached a decision to actually buy one in the first place! smile

Spoken to my local dealership's Mustang man again today who seems to be a nice straightforward guy. Told him that I wouldn't use the car through the winter anyway and would look ahead to March 2016 delivery. He said from what he knows at the moment to expect April, May or June (2016) delivery for anyone now ordering, adding that it would be a brave salesperson to be telling anyone currently ordering to be expecting 2015 delivery !

laugh True, he has been perfectly open and said at the outset that I probably know more about it all than he does! He would rather there have been 'a car in the showroom for people to crawl all over first' than the current situation of questions and uncertainty. I think he is seeing the way it is being handled as a lost opportunity to how it could have been done a lot better. He's already had some people cancel who had placed an order quite some time ago. Must be annoying and frustrating to be honest.

Why would people be cancelling, just seems strange as surely everyone would know it's end of the year at the earliest.
