Pick my V8 vert up today from my dealer. Still keeping my order open for my coup eta "whenever" ill update all and hopefully attach some pictures with my intial impressions later today.
please report back on how much buffeting there is with roof down and windows upWell car is here on the drive picked up with no drama and a full tank of fuel from Trust Ford Barnsley.
Ok Ill make a list of whats great and what is "quirky"
Great List
1) MPG, i drove from Barnsley to Halifax 35 miles M1-M62 A58 and I got 27 mpg ok ok i was taking my time but I'm sure 30mpg is possible.
2) The interior fit and finish is really not bad at all.
3) The handeling and ride is as you would expect so no great suprises
4) Breaks are firm but have good feel
5) Its an auto and a doodle to drive in slow traffic.
6) The steering in normal feels positive its quite firm around centre and feels precise
7) Sat Nav and stereo are great if not a bit complex.
Quirky List
1) Lot of noise through hood as if window isn't quite closed, tried to re set windows that didn't work. Had a few convertibles this feels like a seal isn't seating….
2) The hand book…..looks like a photocopy and the wallet looks like it cost 6p….2p if you took the velcro off.
3) The Shaker Pro doesn't recognise my USB…….ill investigate
4) The seat belts are very narrow.
5) You have to manualy put infill pieces in the side of the body after you put the hood down…..
So there you go my comments its a great looking car drives fine (i went around roundabouts in the wet no issues lol) very comfy very quite at cruise.
The quirks remind you that its American and in no way detract from the ownership experience, thats providing the hood can be sorted….that could be annoying.

I guess yours is Race Red ??
I saw a Red Convertible when I collected mine last Friday, I only had half a tank of fuel on collection !!!
Enjoy !!!
For amusement here is my update, Trust Warrington just had some cars in from MAY orders however my January order needs a air bag glovebox now when I asked "is it built awaiting the bag or is it awaiting the bag to be built" they dont know. How can a MAY order get the glovebox bag and a Jan order didnt, its not just my car or this dealer but I feel the orders went in a bucket and they pulled them out one by one.
I have asked for 3 free services and to push the car back to a 2016 model year which they "know nothing about" - we shall see. Trust have been very communicative but when asked if the lack of VIN didnt flag up a problem they didnt say much.

You might have to reformat the USB stick. I had to for my Mustang, but that's a '12 US import.Ok Ill make a list of whats great and what is "quirky"

Now figured out what the issue with the noise was. It appears that the drivers side window is half an inch lower than the passenger window. Door panel off me thinks, back to Barnsley I go !!
Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs but....Have you tried the reset procedure for the auto window drop? This can get disrupted if the battery has been disconnected or flat. The window drops half an inch as you close the door then pops up when it is shut. There's a reset routine which I've done on an S197 but I don't know if it's the same on an S550. Run the window down while holding the switch down for 2 seconds after it is down, then run it up while holding the switch up for 2 seconds after it is up. Good to hear the noise is a fault rather than normal though. Test reports did say that the noise suppression of the hood was pretty good.

Thanks for the tip on re-setting the windows. The drop down function does work during door cycling however even after trying the reset the issue is the same. Hopefully ill be able to get the techs at Barnsley tomorrow to take off door panel and adjust the stop. Im presumming its a stop that wants winding in. Also just tried Sync i now have sound .....thats wierd wasnt working before. Also auto eipe function is rnabled but not working....strange
some interesting videos on this site, which explains better than the owners manual. Including window operation and resetting.
