Why would people be cancelling, just seems strange as surely everyone would know it's end of the year at the earliest.
People get expectations before these things are confirmed, they expect once a price is announced that a ship with their exact spec of car is already sat in the dock waiting to unload it, when they find out its a year to wait they immediately cancel, not uncommon in the industry im afraid.

I'm not too worried about the wait although I'm 53 this year and starting to lose my youthful looks biggrin

I don't want to look like some old codger in a young man's car. Maybe I shouldn't have sold the Grand Marquis.

Had a feeling that wouldn't be with you as long as I needed it to be........guess I shall continue my work convincing the Mrs that we really should put down a deposit on the new Mustang because after all it is still an 4 seater (with a V8 option available). Good to see so much interest in this though......still debating colours myself......really fancy blue....but black looks good too....or maybe orange - decisions decisions.......perhaps the first decision should be to buy a lottery ticket then maybe I won't have to choose the colour and just have one of each biggrin

To be fair there was plenty of accurate information and pictures about the 2015 cars back in 2013. The 2015 cars were physically seen around the world for most of 2014. Throughout 2014 most of the UK press touted the car as being available here for 2015. From what I've been told some people have had a deposit in for a year or so already in anticipation of 2015 availability only to now be told 2nd quarter of 2016 which does seem a bit poor to be honest.

Not sure why they would've been told 2016 when that email I got from Ford yesterday states late 2015 still.

I sympathise - I was convinced it would have to be blue, my wife prefers black but she doesn't have to clean it and having done black before I vowed never again...............then I saw the black one........and I have to admit she may be right (but I didn't say that and there are no witnesses right wink)

...... and right at the very bottom is what could be a really useful email address. I think Dan Jones could have a rather full inbox over the next couple of days! smile

I put a deposit down before Christmas and have ordered:

5.0 V8
Manual
Fastback
Magnetic
Ebony
Shaker Pro
Parking sensors

It's intended as a tool for the business - alongside the Ford GTs we specialise in.
As we're Whipple dealers we'll be adding the Whipple front feed supercharger system which may require some cal work to talk to the European car, plus a Maganflow exhaust and a few other things. Should be fun.....

Very nice Dave, or should we call you.....DAN?!

Well done, er...on second thoughts though...maybe the clue is in the title - Ford Mustang Specifications EU. They did say that Recaros are available in Germany and other European States, just not in the UK.

No Recaro option on this TC Harrison price list that came out last month frown

http://www.tch.co.uk/upload/files/Ford_Mustang_Pri...

Not to say it missed the first draft of prices though....

Wasn't helped by production of US cars starting six months late.

It was meant to be available from April 2014 but all the cars doing the rounds then were hand built pre-production cars.

If production had started on time the original prediction of RHD for late summer this year would've been right.

Doesn't matter when you get it if Ford are guaranteeing the price after you place an order. 2016 , 2017, what's the difference? It's a fantastic iconic car at a great price.

Just a pity about the Recaros. I wouldn't buy a Jaguar XK without the performance seats and sadly I won't be buying a Mustang without the Recaros. I have a dicky back and I need the additional support.

Looking at that price list it is even more of a bargain as the 32995 for the V8 includes the thousand quid road tax.

Yes - it's a coincidence - I'm Dave Jones - I did used to work at Ford (Dunton) and my CDS ID was djone101 hence the user name on here. I then worked for Roush and Mountune, now doing my own thing with Ford GTs (and 2015 Mustangs soon....)
