Hi

I fancy a quick go now if anyone else is on, and will post times later.

Anyone else managed a practice already? (Last race was only hours ago )

GTLRank benchmark times say:

906, 911 and Pantera ~ 1:57.000
GT40 ~ 2:04.000

Alternative Times(Greger Huttu/Other ):

906 ~ 2:00.4
911 ~ 1:59.9
GT40 ~ 2:05.5
Pantera ~ 1:59.7

Anything in the region of above looks to be about right and a good time
If we beat those times we are on track for a good race!

Dave.

I think a better benchmark time to look for is whatever Greger Huttu has done and then try to get within 2 seconds of him.

Yeah think 2.06ish in the 906 first guidline time then again I stuggled to get a lap in without some kind of distraction. Think i'll leave practice now until (if) the new beast arrives

Hopefully can stay at 2.06 or under consistantly

oi Dave! You've nicked my thread, now I don't get to do my usual bit of commentary for each race, how dare you.

Oh well, I suppose I'll do it anyway....

Chaos on the grid at Hockenheim saw several drivers out of the race following a massive pile-up on the start/finish straight at the end of lap one.

A restart was called by the marshalls, and the second start saw the drivers get away cleanly, with a depleted grid due to Adam and Daveyboy leaving the race meet after crashing out.

Ian Parker scored a maximum 12 points to further stretch his lead in the '76 class, can anyone now catch this man? weight penalties sorely absent from GTL I feel A look at the current league standings shows it's much closer in the battle for second overall, with just a few points seperating the next four contenders.

A spirited drive from PVapour in his '65 class GT40 saw him take second place overall, just a second ahead of Andy, and first in his class, claiming a maximum 12 points, and turning the '65 class on it's head again.

A steady 2nd place finish from Dobbo sees him secure the lead in the '65 championship, more by virtue of having finished every race than by any show of excellence. It's all to play for in the '65 class, with the championship still wide open.

On to Imola.....

current league standings

Well, in the race I've finished, I've come first and go fastest lap. So I just need to practice finishing a bit more

yeh, it is quite important that one I was surprised you did'nt at least get fastest lap at Hok, but I'm sure you'll make up for it at Imola you will be underwhelmed by my performance at this track

was'nt tryin to hustle discovered the driver for my controller was corrupt thus giving intermitant full throttle and 1/4 brake when in centered position Mr Yogi was on when I was trying to fix it.....

that's where the extra time came from, oh yeh, and you gave me your set up which acted as a good base for my final set up

hmmmm I think this might be one of those tracks that favours the lighter better handling cars that can change direction quickly, I'm 2secs slower with the Pantera than I am in the Capri, and only just slower with the BMW (I really want to race this at least once )

2m07s with the BMW CSL. I was doing 2m11s with it last night, bit more practice this time instead of my usual "8laps trying out a car and dumping it if I don't like it" technique and I might get it going quicker.

Haven't turned a wheel at Imola yet, running out of time as well.... Out tomorrow and saturday night, so I may end up racing without having practiced at all!
