Agreed. The lag, loss of audio and server crashes is terrible. Massively disappointed.
I've also been getting a lot of client disconnects and crashes. Really enjoying it when it works though.

Yesterday it was all over the place re server lag and disconnects, hopefully the fix they're pushing out today will address those issues.

One thing that I'm not fussed about is the Field Upgrade malarkey. I liked the Squad Perks in BF3 and felt they really made a difference to your player. From what I understand Field Upgrades only persist throughout the round being played and that's the real pisser for me. If I've understood it correctly you can never start a round with, for example, DEFENSIVE->FLAK. You have to earn it in the round by being awarded the DEFENSIVE->COVER first.

The other problem is they're fairly (but not entirely) reliant on squad play. DiCe bang on about this enhancing squad play, I say bullst as it's enough finding a team of 32 that play cohesively let along a squad of 4/5 ffs. Thus it would seem to skew their usefulness towards squads that do play together which isn't ideal. dIcE also says that this addresses the (first world) 'problem' of multiple squad players having the same perk but that's hardly an issue, I simply changed the perk when I died....easy peasy. Seems too much like cod's stty Killstreak system which I was never a fan of.

I can't find anywhere (not looked too hard tbh) that definitively describes if the perks persist across rounds so happy to be proved wrong.....

New RAM tomorrow, hopefully I will finally be able to play without FPS spikes left, right and centre.

As admin of a server I've yet to come across anyone that appears to be hacking and we've actually yet to kick anyone for being a . Servber stability is improving but I just wish the huge FPS drops would bugger off.

Ooof, i paid £31 via amazon, for the china rising edition, + some prima strategy guide (that i'll never read) delivered on release day. Pays to shop around dude!

Played the first few campaign missions (all very nice on the eyes) and only done a couple of online rounds.
Been experimenting on graphics settings... got an HD6970 2GB, I7 @4.5ghz and 8GB of RAM. On high im getting ~50+ fps, on Ultra between 30 and 40 fps.
Trying to decide whether to opt for a lower overal graphics setting but bump up that resolution slider up from 100%.
Been sticking with engineer (usually the most useful kit) but had a brief spin as Recon, and just couldnt get to grips with the aiming and bullet drop.

Could you chuck me on the list please! ID is Spantney88.

I actually have you on my friendslist Foobes from BF3 but would be good to organise a little game of BF4 :-)! Me and some mates turned a little bird into a mobile stinger launching platform last night, with hilarious results (much rage from ze germans!).

tempted to get tis on PC, but just worried the SP campaign will last about 5 minutes, and online play last time I tried was a ridiculous ballache of tts spaming spawn points and all ganging up on me because I was decent with a sniper rifle.

its not camping if you fking move about and set traps, its what snipers do!

Battlefield 2 and closed servers come back all is forgiven!

For anyone with a decent graphics card but problems running BF4, here's what just happened for me:

My system is W7, i5 OCd @ 4.3, GTX 550ti (w/ beta driver for BF4) and 4gb RAM - I was getting 10-19 FPS, with 1 second FPS spikes to 0 regularly with everything on low graphics and resolution scaling on 75%.

I've just installed 8gb Kingston RAM and changed nothing else. I'm now getting 35-45 FPS, no FPS spikes at all, with everything on medium graphics and resolution scaling on 100%.

BF4 is one thirsty bd. 4gb RAM min requirement is absolute rubbish if you have Windows 7.
