Played for a few hours last night, don't know if is just me but camping seems to be prevalent among bases like vacant, backlot and overgrown, gets a bit frustrating hunting people down.
but still really enjoying it, wont be stopping anytime soon, lol
added you last night norbury.
no idea about 4 player split screen. battlefield 1 now resigned to drawer.
Overgrown and backlot are designed to have some static players sniping though. You expect it really. PS claymores under cars just never gets old :-)but still really enjoying it, wont be stopping anytime soon, lol

Yep pretty much this, back then you had different maps suited to sniping, medium range or close quarters combat which encouraged you to try different load-outs and ways of playing. Each map\round was different which gave it some nice variety. That is until people started moaning about tactical play and sniping after which they just designed the maps\guns to make sniping useless and the only viable method of playing was running around like a loon on speed with a shotgun. It's one of the reasons why I went off subsequent versions of Cod, lost all it's subtlety and just became one big grind-fest where the person with the best internet connection won.

The problem I'm having is discovering that time has moved on since 2007. The amount of M40A3 quick scoping, grenade spamming and noob tubing going on, as well as camping (and true camping, not sniping) is starting to taint the nostalgia.
Lol, thought they would have at least patched this out for the Remaster. It really is a perfect copy then. Ali_T said:

Odd, as that's pretty much exactly how I remember it.One thing for certain that has changed and that is the in-game sounds. I can barely hear people sprinting near me who don't have Dead Silence and that's with high volume, proper presets on a surround sound headset.
Gameplay is as awesome as ever, I do feel seeing people at distances difficult. I used to be able to spot someone across map no problem and pop them with an M16. I can't seem to get the contrast colours right, at a distance everything seems to blend.

I can confirm its true to the original after playing shipment Map on Domination mode. Spawn>Die, Spawn>Die, Spawn, grenade>die, Spawn, flash bang>die.... repeat
I've only tried Shipment once. It was enough. So often, as soon as I died, I respawned just to die immediately again from someones bullet that had been fired before I was there! It's not really much fun, is it? Nostalgic, but not really fun. I hope we get an MW2 remaster and, this time, they leave the care package exploit in because that WAS fun. Hilariously so!
I,m not talking about snipers guys, it's their job to camp.
It's people just sitting in spawns, I think they forget some of the maps have great cameras when your waiting to respawn in hardcore.
Especially bog, like your watching from a drone and can pick out the snipers, lol still loving it though

I have put a fair few hours into this and I am yet to come across shipment . I only play HC with games modes HQ, Kill confirmed and Death match so surely I should have played it by now unless its not available on Hardcore.
I am finding it a lot harder then I remember which could be down too 2 things.
1. I am getting older.
2. Im still running and gunning. Maybe I have got so used to having to play fast on the more recent CODS that I need to take a chill pill.

How's it running on PC? Well optimized? Got a GTX970 which hopefully should be fine
GTX 780ti, campaign is a bit stuttery out in the open, indoors is ok. I've got all the new drivers and have tweaked it down to free up memory but it's struggling. Multiplayer I've had no problems with play, very smooth and the graphics are excellent.
Remembering all the choke points and getting my create a class sorted will make life easier.
Update has been live a little while now. Welcome the new 'old' maps back to the game, plus Winter Crash which is fun, I now prefer that map in the dark tbh and hope it stays on there forever.
They've introduced micro transactions fr loot boxes. Easily avoided and you can earn in game credits for the odd box every now and then. I got a Melee glass bottle and a legendary Barret Skin in my free one. I quite like the new choice of unlockable reticles too, I prefer a smaller one on the M16 and Snipers than the cross hair or big red dot youbusually get.
