I have windows 7 but got the 64 bit version, no cap on RAM so have 12gb in there, its made a massive difference to games like Crysis 3 and hopefully BF4.

My processor is an I5 1.6ghz and the card is an HD7950 (I think) so its pretty beefy but not top line by any stretch smile

You may struggle with that processor, as BF4 is fairly processor intensive.

I was getting the Red Screen Of Death on Sunday so I have stopped playing, I'll try again this week.

As predicted this game was utter crap on release, I should be level 8 by now but due to crashes all that progress was lost. My kill death sucks too as every time I had a good game the server would crash.

Every time I tell myself no pre-orders and yet I still do it. Even PAYDAY 2 was ballsed up but they did it the other way round: they released a decent game then patched the fun out of it.

If they do anything to fix the buggy piece of crap that is BF4 then do post it here, thanks.

Im saying 1.6 but thats a bit of a guess as built the thing 2 years ago. May be due a new processor, may see if I can get one of the swisher new intel chips that fit tye same socket. Should keep her ticking over. But thats after xmas and xb1 purchase :-)

Got it on way home.

Runs smooth as you like everything up to ultra.

played first part of campaign, i laughed that in game graphics are better than the sort of CGI FMV sequences haha.

EDIT: having a look at old build info, my CPU is an i5 2.66ghz quad core.

Problem is my socket is 1156, and I cant upgrade a cpu without upgrading my motherboard too to a new socket.

Ah well, will leave it as it is until stuff starts to fall over.

Done well though, built this thing originally in Jan 2010 and upgraded Ram and GPU in April 2012 smile

Afternoon. Bit late to the party as usual…. Can you add me to the ist please fubes?

Weird about those problems you're getting yesterday. My games running suprisingly well for a new battlefield release just the laggy servers holding me up.

I'm running 200% resolution scale and high settings for now. And haven't had to upgrade my build from last year.

Should be on a bit later!

So how is the game playing at the moment then guys?

Worth getting yet, or wait for a couple of patches still?

Id probably wait a few patches unless you can deal with crashes. Although some people seem to get away with crashing much less but for me its every round or 2. frown

Update: Just had 4 rounds without a crash!

not been doing bad in this incarnation of the game.....until today!!

I just spent 4 hours having my arse handed to me on s silver platter.

Apparently it doesn't matter what number you put after the name the servers are still full of s that need to find something else with their time!!!!

Still good but not different enough to justify £40 though.

Judgment still well reserved at the mo.

I'd hang off, it's still very st. Just for laughs I installed it on a brand new install of W8.1 and it still crashes, albeit less than W7, despite it being the 'favoured' o/s for the game.

It's so hard to get a decent game, ie one that doesn't have huge fps spikes, lag, objects skipping over the screen etc which ends up with you being shot through many walls, round corners etc, just makes for an incredibly frustrating experience.

When it's good it's bloody amazing but sadly those times are in single figures for me. Think I'm going to go back to BF3....

Wait. The crashes, crappy hit registration and the sound clipping in and out are rage inducing. You unlock attachments or rank up and the server crashes and you loss the stats from that round plus the unlocks.

Slowly getting to grips with it although I still think BF3 animations/game play is better. What is annoying me is the ability for the enemy to shoot you with the starting guns from bloody miles away, way before you've even seen them. Fark knows what its going to be like when they unlock the better weaponry. Do like the weapon descriptions/comparison charts and some new weaponry added.

Hate the tank mechanics (driving etc.) although I think its brilliant that you now have to wait for your ammo to replenish rather than just blasting away. Planes are much easier to fly but then its making even easier again for the pro pilots.

The looking over/around obstacles is good fun, although I'm not sure how effective it is.

Does anyone know why I can no longer use the 14x scope on my Recon starting rifle? I could use it when I first started playing but now I can't, it's just highlighted in red in the selection screen.

Well, having almost completed the bizarre, clichéd and rather buggy SP part of the game.

However I am up for the MP part of the game, expect to die...lots.

My gamer name is Rick_1138 (surprisingly lol)

Hopefully it will work a bit better a few days\week after release.

No idea how to set up with folk on PH though??

OK Rick, I've stuck you on the players list on page 1 smile Add a few (or all) of us from the list then we can have a group hug via Battlelog. I need to have a look at how to set up a PH Clan for BF4 same as we had in BF3 (if we need a new one that is?)
